In Fall of 2022 I partnered with Eco Thrift in Fort Collins, CO to host a clothing swap and discuss the detriments of the fast fashion industry, as well as the ways in which shopping second-hand can help offset this epidemic. We also shared resources that people can use to recycle clothing that is unusable and ways we can all be more regeneratively mindful in how we interact with our clothing. This fun and interactive event allowed everyone to swap clothing they brought and then anything left over was donated to the store to sell. We also had a photo booth and raffle, with 2 winners getting a gift card to the store. Overall, the radicalization of thrifting has been transformative in helping people move away from buying from environmentally damaging brands as fast fashion contributes to 92 million tonnes of waste and 79 trillion tonnes of water each year.
